If you want to take a trip this winter, head to Cody Wyoming where the beautiful South Fork Valley hosts the highest concentration of ice in the lower 48 states. From single pitch climbs close to the road, to committing multi-pitch routes, there is something here for all skill levels. Typically over 150 pitches of ice form in the valley providing a wide range of difficulty from some of the hardest routes in the country to some of the easiest.
If you want to stay a little closer to home, try climbing at Lake City with us. Just one block south of historic downtown the Lake City Ice Park, is a favorite among ice climbers who prefer small crowds, stellar routes, and a casual, fun atmosphere.
The Town of Lake City manages the ice park and the gorgeous blue ice fed by piped water that comes down via shower heads. If the Ouray Ice Park is too crowded for you or a bit too far, consider climbing with us at the Lake City Ice Park.
